I eat my chili
with pico and white corn tortillas
or thin tortilla chips
drink coffee
and
eat catfish and gumbo
in August
on the patio
in the heat
of my glorious Texas summer
dress
incredibly out of style
admit aloud too much
too crass, too vulgar
yet hilarious things
touch
my friends to show my care
love
where my heart leads me
though rare does it lead
adore, glory in men
like snowflakes
on the tip of tongue
a thrill gone to soon
I let them go
and love?
